About Me

I find it difficult to decide where to start; or how much to say really. What About Me ? Who am I exactly? Well, a big reason for me even having this page and sharing my thoughts with you, is to answer that very question. So, here are a few random stats and possible future journal entries:

• I am a chiropractor, reiki master, mother, sister, daughter, wife, and friend.

• I am the oldest and only girl in my family.
• I have 2 younger brothers. There are 3 of us;  and we are all 3 years apart. Mom was a planner.
• I was brought up Irish Catholic in a city about 10 minutes south of Boston. So, you guessed it- lots of meat, potatoes and guilt.
• I am a recovering Catholic.
• I am a vegetarian.
• I was kicked out of dance class at the age of 3 for not conforming. This is still one of my proudest moments.
• I grew up in an alcoholic family. I am extremely proud of my father for recovering when I was 14 years old; and maintaining his sobriety til the day he died.
• About one year after retirement, my Dad died suddenly of a heart attack at the age of 61. This changed my outlook on life drastically.
• My Mom has Multiple Sclerosis and lives in a specialized MS home.
• My first memory was from when I was 11 months old.
• My parents gave me “the talk” at the kitchen table when I was 12. It was traumatizing.
• I suffer from brain fog and cognitive impairments due to a traumatic brain injury and illness.
• I have had several traumas, surgeries and illnesses since I was born that eventually led me to a career in Chiropractic.
• I struggled with addiction to painkillers in my twenties following a car accident with a drunken driver in 1996.
• I am very happily married to my spiritual partner.
• My husband is afraid of heights. Our first date was skydiving together. One would say he was quite smitten with me.
• I own 2 sliding scale chiropractic offices with my husband: Healing Hands Community Chiropractic in Manchester, NH and Hands Community Chiropractic in Portsmouth, NH
• My son was born about 6 weeks early while we were on our “babymoon” in Sedona, AZ.
• I consider my son to be my greatest teacher.
• I believe in ghosts/spirits due to personal experiences.
• I am convinced I was an Orca in another lifetime. I know…weird.
• I LOVE Disney World.
• I secretly wish I was Jimmy Buffett.
• I have a pretty intense bitchy resting face.
• I am a very lucid dreamer.
• I talk too much. It’s a distraction method.
• I am my own harshest critic.
• I struggle with forgiveness, commitment, expectations of how life is suppose to be; and letting go of anger, sadness and judgment.
• I have Chronic Lyme Disease. It has been my greatest gift.
• I am normally a very private person. I am petrified to hit “post” right now.
